When I first heard about this I thought it was a fuckin' joke but it appears to be true much to my amusement. If you happen to be thelucky winning bidder by December 11, 2000 at 10:45 am and 24 seconds(Pacific Standard Time) you will actually get a free private DJ lessonfrom Run-D.M.C.'s DJ Jam Master Jay. This opportunity is being auctioned off on eBay by UltimateBid which is a companythat offers unique and extraordinary experiences at various prices. According to the description, Jam Master Jay will personally comeover to your house, showcase his turntable skills and teach you everythingthat you need to know. This experience also includes autographedRun-D.M.C. CD's and four(4) tickets to a Run-D.M.C. concert. Unfortunately, the bid price does not include transportation costs to bring Jam Master Jay to your house with the exception of those who live in New York. So, if you're the winning bidder and you live in California, you're gonnaalso have to buy Jay a plane ticket as well if you want him to come. Thelast time I checked, the bid price was up to about $2,025.00 and willmost likely go up even higher before Monday morning which is the deadline.
Speaking of Run-D.M.C., the newstreet date for the release of the "Crown Royal" album is now set for February 13, 2001. Itwill feature guest appearances from Nas, Everlast, Fat Joe, Sugar Rayfrom Limp Bizkit, Kid Rock, Mobb Deep and Slick Rick. Hopefully, this time it will actuallycome out on that date because their label Arista has had to change the release dateseveral times before because of red tape with Kid Rock & Sugar Ray's record labels soeverybody keep their fingers crossed!
Have you ever dreamed of owning an authentic Bally full-size Tron arcade game? You can register to win by going to the 75 Ark Entertainment web site and filling out the on-line form. Thisnewly stylized Tron arcade game will come autographed by the Deltron 3030 crewwhich consists of Deltron Zero(aka Del tha Funkee Homosapien), thecantankerous Captain Aptos(Dan The Automator) and Skiznod, theBoy Wonder(Kid Koala).
The HypeZone 2000 Crazy Bastard Award goes to none other than the Wu Tang Clan's Ol' Dirty Bastard! Afterall, you have to give the man credit for his surpriseappearance onstage at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York with the copsafter him. Unfortunately, he pushed his luck a little too far a week later when he was finally caught outside a McDonalds Restaurant insouth Philadelphia while signing autographs. Now Ol' Dirty Bastard Fansmay not find this very amusing but I do!! Seriously, if you're a famousentertainer and there's a warrant out for your arrest the last thingthat you would want to do is attract a lot of attention to yourself.Unless he was intentionally trying to get caught, he definitely needs to takesome fugitive lessons from the "Fabulous" Chi Ali. :-)
Finally, I gotta give props to Beaster over at the Visual Orgasmfor allowing me to use some graffiti pics from their web site. And for all the people who havebeen sending me url's to mpg files of your songs please keep in mind that I'monly interested in checking out underground hip-hop songs(that don't sound like shit) only...not Trip-Hop and definitely not any song that where you don't let your DJ represent. Remember, the emcee cannot stand alone without the DJ so do the right thing andgive your DJ his/her props.
Peace, J.T. The Brown-Eyed Genie
